EurepGAP Pre-Audit Visit
Within the cooperation between Horticultural Export Promotion Department HEPD – Jordan export Development & Commercial Centers Corporation JEDCO and Swiss Import Promotion Program SIPPO – Amman office, and Institute for Marketecology IMO - Switzerland in order to help farmers being EurepGAP certified, Mrs. Elisabeth Ruegg (Manager of IMO office – Germany) and Mrs. Nurhayat Bayturan (Manager of IMO office – Turkey) [as they are EurepGAP certified auditors] have visited Jordan during the period 13-14/12/2004.
Visit Objective:
Conduct a Pre-Audit for one of the candidates companies to train them on the EurepGAP regulations and the auditing process.
Visit Program:
During the 1st day, the 2 auditors conducted a field pre-audit for Mr. Karim Haddadin’s farm in the Jordan Valley to train the farmers on the regulations and requirements of the certificate practically. 2nd day, they conducted a workshop at JEDCO to discuss in details the EurepGAP regulations and requirements, findings of Mr. Haddadin, compare the current situation of the other companies with the EurepGAP requirements and answer questions. After the workshop, the 2 auditors visited Mr. Karim Haddadin’s packinghouse in Marka-Amman as a pre-audit for packinghouses.
During the visits, candidates have received copies from EurepGAP regulations and requirements to help them in preparation process for certification.

Results:
- Increase the knowledge of candidates companies about EurepGAP in details, and compare it with the current situation of the farms and offer them the suitable solutions and recommendations to help them correct their situations.
- Train the farmers on the Auditing process.
- Companies will start immediately preparing their farms and packinghouses according to EurepGAP requirements, in order to be able ASAP to conduct the auditing process (after this workshop they are able to do their self or internal inspection).
